MK Technologies of Worsley has won a contract to strip the interior panels of a Boeing 737-200.
All 65 window panels have been transported to the firm's premises on the Oakhill Trading Estate from aeroplane refurbishers in the south of England.
In the past the job has been done by soaking the panels in solvents and scraping off the laminate.
But MK Technologies has invested in modern coatings removals technology which avoids the use of solvents or chemicals.
The Boeing panels are being treated in a more modern and safer dry-blasting process.
Managing Director Paul Mullins said: "We were chosen for this highly specialist work because we have invested heavily in state-of-the-art equipment and follow the quality processes required by the aviation industry."
The panels go back south for re-laminating as part of the total aircraft refurbishment.
MK Technologies, which has achieved the ISO 14001 standard, is fast becoming recognised as a leading coatings removal specialist.
