LOSTOCK bakery Greenhalgh's has been highly commended in the annual Baking Industry Awards.
David Smart, production director at Greenhalgh's, was awarded the commendation at a high-profile ceremony, hosted in London by TV personality Des O'Connor.
The Independent Bread Business of the Year award, sponsored by Rank Hovis Ltd, rewards excellence in all aspects of a bakery business. Greenhalgh's has more than 20 North-west shops.
The company was a finalist in the 1999 British Sandwich Association Awards and winner of the 1999 Independent Bread Business of the Year.
