I SAW on the television news on Friday (October 20) that the Muslim Arab States are demanding that the West send in a multi-national force to protect the gunmen, stone throwers, lynch mobs etc from the Israeli soldiers.

Well, fair dos. As Britain's contribution, I suggest that the 5,000 or so foot soldiers that marched down Derby Street to the precinct on Saturday, October 21, report for service to the Gaza Strip? That would raise about five regiments of foot, and while they're going about it, they enlist a couple of regiments of Kosovo, Afghan, Iranian, Iraqi and Belarusian refugees, who have their parade ground in Bolton precinct, wearing their fine uniforms by Adidas, Gucci and Nike etc. No need to send a Signals Regiment -- they all have their mobiles on their belts. Anyway, jesting apart, let's leave the troubles in Palestine where they belong, not Bolton. In the 1940s, both sides now at war were killing British troops in Palestine.

And, finally, if a few Catholics, Protestants or Anglicans got shot for going against troops in a Muslim State, would the aforementioned Bolton volunteers march for them? I think not.

No fatwahs, please. Only speaking my mind. Live and let live. Peace on earth.
