WHITEY, a rescued Staffordshire bull terrier featured in the BEN last month, has been given a little help to overcome his creaking bones -- thanks to a regular Pet Life advertiser.

Ed Berry, who runs the Freedom Collar company in West Yorkshire, read the story of how Little Lever based Fireside Staffie Rescue had battled to clear the dog's coat of impact adhesive after it was taken from an alleged glue sniffer.

Whitey, thought to be about 12 years old, was also suffering from arthritis. But, soon after the BEN story, he was found a new home.

Now Mr Berry has sent Whitey a free £20 braided copper collar, featured recently in the paper after a local woman reported a remarkable improvement in her dog's arthritis.
