SO Virgin Megastores are to close their branch in The Market Place, because the site is not big enough and is minuscule compared to their other stores.
Virgin claim they need extra retail floorspace. Well, now the date has been set for the closure of the C&A store, this prime site store seems an obvious choice to relocate Virgin Megastores.
If Bolton wishes to remain a major shopping town, it must keep big name stores within the town centre, and not drive them to the characterless, huge, out-of-town complexes.
