THE boss of a chicken firm has lost an arm following an horrific accident at his factory.

Ebraham Dalal, who owns Bolton Poultry Products on Moncreiff Street, severed the limb in a machine designed to chill chickens processed at the company.

Despite attempts by staff at Withington Hospital, where he was transferred from the Royal Bolton Hospital, it was impossible to save his right arm.

The accident took place on Sunday night at 9.30pm. The machine has since been shut down and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the matter.

No-one at the firm was available for comment.
