Chorley 219/7, Kendal 141

CHORLEY moved closer to the top of the league with this thumping 15-point victory.

While Netherfield may be reaching odds-on favourite status for the title, their town neighbours Kendal, could do little to prevent Chorley's upward progress.

Batting first, Chorley posted a decent total built largely on a stand of 135 between Bannister and Horridge.

Bannister was eventually run out for a patient 82, while Horridge was unbeaten on 67 when the Chorley innings closed.

Kendal were seen in trouble against Marquet who picked up four quick wickets including the dangerous Hunte, who departed victim of arguably the catch of the season, snapped up by the alert Fazackerley.

Fallows was smartly run out by Bannister at short leg and at 38/5 Kendal were clearly struggling.

A 50 stand between Veenstra and Mee was ended with another fine piece of fielding by Fazackerley whose direct hit ran out the Kendal professional.

Despite Mee's undefeated 51, Marquet and Patel ripped the tail out. Marquet finishing with 5/41 and Patel 3/34.
