The Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton with the London Transport promotion bus
A BIG red bus helped the Mayor of Bolton's charity really roll along when it arrived in Victoria Square in the town centre this week.
The bus is touring towns all over the country to promote organ transplant.
And when local transplant recipients and the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr Alan Wilkinson and wife Denise, hopped on board, more than 400 people "signed up".
"The event gave the Mayor's kidney campaign The Gift of Life a terrific boost," said a spokeswoman for the campaign.
"It was brilliant to see so many local people so keen to help."
The Gift of Life campaign will involve a variety of fund-raising and social events during the Mayoral year. It's designed to boost funds for transplants, but also to sign up 2,001 local people on the national donor register.
