IN REPLY to Mrs M Ball's letter, BEN July 19.
I have to say that I too, as well as other members of my church, were very disappointed with the Bolton Biggest Birthday Party at the Reebok Stadium on July 2.
Considering all the hype and build-up to the event, we too expected more community singing, instead of what was nothing less than a head-banging rock gospel concert.
Yes, we too thought the schoolchildren were excellent, and a credit to Jane Hampson and their teachers. However, the gospel choir and the Message Tribe were just one big turn-off, shouting so loudly I don't think the microphones were necessary.
We too left at 4pm. Very few of us felt uplifted by it all, but quite a few left with a big headache, and I'm 30 years away to becoming a senior citizen.
