BOLTON Citizens' Advice Bureau has opened a new outreach branch in Little Hulton.

The service will be open on Friday afternoons between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

It has been funded by money granted from the Single Regeneration Budget, and aims to make the service accessible to those who would struggle to reach Bolton town centre.

Computer technology developments mean mountains of files and libraries of advisory books are stored in one portable terminal, ensuring the service can be transported to the far ends of the borough.

A spokesman said: "Our main objective is to ensure that all residents are able to get effective advice and assistance on their rights and entitlements."

The outreach service is based at the Little Hulton Health Centre, Haysbrook Avenue, Little Hulton.

People do not need appointments and can simply drop in. All advice is free, independent, impartial and confidential.

However, the service is still recruiting volunteers to ensure the success of the project.

The spokesman added: "If you can spare seven hours per week and would like to develop new skills, give advice and meet new people, then contact us."

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can call Sumera or Kevin on 01204 900232/900233.
