MYSELF, my friend and my six-year-old grandson went for a stroll around Farnworth Leisure Park -- Crompton Lodges on Sunday, July 16. I had a very bad fall and would like to thank, through the BEN, the wonderful people who helped me. They were all total strangers. They rang for an ambulance, they helped push the stretcher, with the paramedics, up a rough steep track. Geraldine and Alan did four journeys to Highfield and back to Prestolee, to get my friend back home. Jean drove to Farnworth to let my family know and Steven met the ambulance and helped to push me.
These are the people who should get the Queen's awards -- not the singers and footballers.
Thank you all very much.
