But Sam Allardyce was deadly serious when he revealed that he'd been let down by AC Milan ... yes, AC Milan.
Zizi Roberts, who is on the books of the Italian giants, was expected to fly into Indianapolis to join the Wanderers' US tour at the weekend after the clubs had set up a trial.
But the Serie A giants gave back word.
Big Sam was disappointed that he didn't get to run the rule over the Libyan international striker but it was no big deal judging by the shrug of the shoulders and the deadpan, matter-of-fact manner in which he announced: "AC Milan have put the block on me getting Zizi Roberts over!"
