IN the ninth week of the fixture program Horwich kept up their title challenge with a win over Farnworth.

Farnworth batted first, scoring 56 for 6. Horwich chasing the runs reached their target for the loss of only 1 wicket (M Walker 30 not out and 3-2-1-1).

Little Lever continued to improve beating Kearsley by 6 wkts. Kearsley batted first scoring 39 all out (A Worren 2.3-0-4-3 and C Anderton 2-0-9-2). Little Lever knocked the runs off for the loss of 4 wkts.

In the game Farnworth SC verses Westhoughton, the latter batted first scoring 74 for 4 (C Fletcher 30 not out). Farnworth SC reached 36 for 7 before the rain came, leaving Westhoughton to take the points due to a higher scoring rate.

The same happened with Heaton versus Egerton. Heaton batted first, scoring 87 for 4. Egerton batting second, were on 75 for 0 when rain stopped play leaving them to take the points on a higher scoring rate.

The games Eagley verses Astley Bridge and Greenmount verses Tonge were called off due to the weather and the game Bradshaw verses Walkden shall take place on Sunday 6th August due to Bradshaw being in the LCB finals day.
