LEIGH RMI's new found status has once again attracted the attention of two experienced Football League players and they go straight into the side at Winsford tonight.

Shaun Reid and Neil Critchley are both well-known on the north west soccer circuit and will be out to impress to earn a contact.

Assistant manager Dave Miller, in charge while Steve Waywell takes a holiday, said: "Although we now need to be getting down to a settled side it would be foolish not to see what these lads have to offer."

Both players are on frees after being released by their clubs; Reid from Chester and Critchley from Crewe. "The games we have had so far have all been about fitness but from here on in it gets serious," said Miller, who will try to resolve the back four problem. Jamie Udall and Ian Swan will be given the central defensive positions with Andy Farrell at right back and Mark Winstanley at left back.

"It is important that we give them an extended run to settle in," added Miller.
