AT last! Evidence that Wanderers' visit to indianapolis is generating excitement.

The vast majority of the population of this sports mad Midwest city may still be indifferent to the fact that a famous English football team is in town but the players and staff of the Indiana Blast - their opponents tonight - are at least showing an interest.

It's an interest that is tempered by the fact that this is, after all, merely a friendly game and that they have more serious business to take care of when they go 'on the road' for a four-match schedule that could make or break their play-off hopes.

But, after Sunday's 1-0 win against Cincinnati River Hawks - the club John McGinlay quit last Friday - star goalkeeper Chuck Browder summed up the feeling in the home camp when he said: "Bolton will be the best team I've ever played against and we are all looking forward to that.

"But by the same token we realise it doesn't get us anywhere in the league race, so we have to stay sharp for the upcoming road trip. We're all excited about Bolton but more importantly we have to keep thinking of the play-offs. We still have a lot to play for."

Peter Baah, scorer of Sunday's winner, grew up in England and knows the significance of the visit of the Wanderers. "This will be a real challenge for the guys," he acknowledged.

"It's always fun to see how you fare against a club of that calibre. But we need to save some energy for the trip."
