LEIGH East Tigers were worthy 14-6 winners in a tough derby clash with Leigh East U10s.
The Tigers' defence ably led by MOM Karl Morris, stopped the strong runs of the East's forwards top tackler Ben Davies and Jonathan Fletcher to allow their own forwards Daniel Weaving and Adam McGuire to gain valuable yards allowing Lydon Robertson to grab the first try for the Tigers with the conversion missed.
Once again strong defence with Andrew Keating and Ben Taylor held out which forced a turn over allowing Ben to finish off a flowing move to increase the Tigers' lead.
The home team pulled a try back after a great try from Steven Grundy converted by Carl Fahy to go in at half time 8-6.
The second half carried on as the first ended with the Tigers defending resolutely finally ending with Lyndon Robertson going over for his brace to put the match out of reach, converted by Ryan Wignall.
Most improved award went to Shane Eccleston for his commitment and support for the team.
