THE blustery conditions, coupled with heavy showers, ensured that the scores returned by the early morning players would be unlikely to win prizes in the singles Stableford at Turton .
The weather relented slightly as the day progressed and Tony Wood made the most of the more favourable afternoon conditions to take the honours.
Second place Andy Miller had only managed 18 points on his first nine holes but stormed home with 22 points in his last eight. Third place went to Max Lee who was another mid-afternoon starter.
Stableford: 42pts - A Wood; 41- A P B Miller; 39 - F M Lee; 37 - D Waddicar, A Gittins, M Bamping; 36 - I J Bolton, M J Morrison, R A Lane, J P Barton, K Jolley, I P Griffiths, K W Grime, G C Wright.
