A CHORLEY pub has been given a new lease of life after undergoing a major refurbishment.
At a cost of £80,000, the Bretherton Arms, Eaves Lane, has been totally transformed, with the introduction of a new menu and a completely new dining area.
Tenants Maria and John Hargreaves, who have been running the pub for more than four years, had their wishes granted by owners Scottish and Newcastle Pub Enterprises, who also included a brand new state-of-the-art kitchen in the refurbishment plans.
And not only has the interior undergone extensive changes but so has the outside with the addition of brand new signs helping to make the pub much more visible.
John Hargreaves said: " We are absolutely delighted with the finished result.
"The feedback from many of the regulars, as well as the new customers, is that the overall character of the pub has not been compromised.
"The refurbishment has provided us with everything we could have wished for.
"Scottish and Newcastle listened to our requests and created a pub which is able to cater for everyone - whether it be just a quiet drink in the bar or a full meal in the brand new dining area."
