SCHOOLGIRL Rooph Patel received a right royal honour after being named Northern Counties Rosebud.
Rooph, aged eight, of Upper Lees Drive, Westhoughton, was crowned Westhoughton Rosebud at the town's carnival last year and has since had a packed programme of events to attend.
But her biggest achievement came recently when she attended the Northern Counties Queen Association event in Chorley and judges awarded her the Rosebud title there.
Rooph, a pupil at Chequerbent Primary School, received a sash and trophy.
The schoolgirl is now looking forward to taking part in carnivals throughout the summer, including crowning her successor at Westhoughton Carnival in August.
