WORKERS are being encouraged to line-up their bosses for a spell of voluntary work.
Bolton Volunteer Bureau in Pool Street wants employees to sponsor owners and managers to do either half a day or a full day, assisting a suitable community group.
"If you work in Bolton here's your chance to get them into the real world," said Peter Sloan, the Bureau's Co-ordinator.
The scheme, which is being launched at the start of National Volunteers Week, is Mr Sloan's idea.
He was inspired by the Back to the Floor television series which featured top bosses experiencing life on the shop floor.
BVB will find a suitable community group for bosses taking part in the scheme. It involves shadowing an experienced worker or volunteer.
Voluntary groups available include those working with older people, a young persons' drop in, advice services, conservation groups, charity shops and organisations which support people with disabilities etc.
"Once the volunteering has taken place, the sponsorship money will go to that group to help them continue their valuable work," Mr Sloan said.
The scheme is expected to run for a few months.
Details and sponsorship forms are available from Mr Sloan on 01204 380692.
