ATHLETIC bobbies are putting their best feet forward to raise cash for two deserving good causes.
A group of seven local officers have already raised more than £4,500 between them by competing in the London Marathon.
And now they are in training for two more marathon treks -- in Manchester and New York.
PC Peter Hilton, who is based at Eccles police station, helps to run the Greater Manchester Police athletics club, known as the Sedgeley Park Road Runners. He said: "We've been delighted with all the support and sponsorship we have had so far.
"But it would be marvellous if we could get more before we tackle the next two marathons."
The two charities being supported by the Road Runners this year are the NSPCC and the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
Anyone who can support the team in future runs can contact PC Hilton on 0161 856 5328.
