IPSWICH player-coach Tony Mowbray gave George Burley a double boost today when he declared himself fit for tomorrow night's play-off decider at Portman Road and signed a one-year extension to his playing contract. George Burley must now decide whether to recall the 36-year-old defender, who was substituted after just half an hour of Sunday's 2-2 draw at the Reebok, or stick with youngster Wayne Brown, who was an effective understudy. But it looks odds on that the Town boss will go for experience.
Mowbray, who suffered double vision after an aerial clash with Dean Holdsworth, trained yesterday to put himself back in the reckoning.
But 24-goal top scorer David Johnson missed the session amid growing fears that he won't make the return leg.
"I'm reluctant to rule him out but he's extremely doubtful," Burley said.
Ipswich have sold all tickets for the home sections of the Portman Road ground.
