I WOULD like to voice my support for the letter regarding the speed of traffic along Belmont Road. I live on Belmont Road and can confirm that many cars travel at speeds well in excess of 30mph. The police do carry out speed checks and this is the only time that cars and motorbikes comply with the speed limit.
To slow the speeding traffic and save police time why doesn't the council build a mini-roundabout at Templecome Drive? Surely not too much to ask. Blackburn Road and Moss Bank Way have traffic-calming measures -- why not Belmont Road? Other than a mini-rounabout, why not a speed camera?
