IT brought back memories for us when reading the"Vandals wreck Frank's dream garden" story in the BEN (Monday March 20). More or less the same thing happened to my mum and dad about five years ago.
My dad was dedicated to his garden, being in his 70s. It was immaculate, a weed didn't get a chance. He had some lovely shrubs and plants and bought some every week. It was his pride and joy. Then, one summer, late at night, some scumbags came and destroyed it. Eggs had been thrown at the fencing, broken glass bottles were left on the lawn, shrubs and plants were ripped up.
My dad was devastated. Hundreds of pounds had been spent over the years. My dad is not with us now, he died a few years ago and it is still taking us time to replace the plants now my mum has taken over.
So, good luck Frank, keep up the good work.
