I READ with interest of the 'highly successful road show tour' promoting Bolton as a short break destination, and note that 2,500 people from Belfast and Glasgow 'wanted' to visit the town (BEN March 24).
As this figure falls short of the tourism department's own criteria for attracting visitors with regard to tourism grants, may I ask the cost of this 'junket' and from where the funds came? May I also ask how many people do they realistically expect to make their way over here from Belfast for a 'short break'? . . And I mean realistically!
