I AM replying in answer to John Hartshorn's letter in the Bolton Evening News on February 24, when he presented his so-called unbiased statement that Farnworth is represented by three first-class, hard-working councillors and that there is life outside Farnworth.
As a tax-paying resident of the town I would like to ask Mr Hartshorn of Daubhill if these councillors are so good then why is Farnworth one of the most deprived, run-down and crime-ridden towns in the country? Maybe these three councillors have been working in Daubhill? At election time, they promised the people of Farnworth so much but sadly nothing changes. Councillor Noel Spencer fumbles his way through as head of housing in Bolton so no effort is put into Farnworth's needs. The other councillors Johnson and Stones are virtually unseen and unknown in the town.
Farnworth people are absolutely fed up with the lack of proper representation and action. The quicker these Labour councillors are ousted, the quicker the town will improve.
Yes, Mr Hartshorne, there is life outside Farnworth but what about life inside Farnworth.
