IN your editorial of March 15, you state that 'cycle lanes on Moss Bank Way have clearly not worked'.
The main purpose of the changes was to reduce accidents, and as you report elsewhere in the same edition this clearly has been achieved.
Do you really want a Bolton of ever increasing car usage, speeding cars endangering lives, more pollution, more stress and alienation as our lives are dominated by the car?
When people are asked why they don't cycle more, the main reason given is the perception that roads are dangerous. Bolton Council deserves credit for creating a few cycle lanes to encourage people.
So -- try the bike, you might like it.
