Hands down the centuries reach out to their relatives,
I on the threshold of a new millennium gather in my own harvest.
Seeds of lost generations speak out.
I stand on the edge of this new millennium,
Look upwards, to the future with hope.
I remember memories of 'self'.
I speak of actions shared with others,
Watching, learning, thinking, storing knowledge.
Yes! I remember! I remember.
I remember senses - awakened.
I remember tears of joy, tears of fear.
I remember life, and living it.
I remember hope, and sharing it.
I remember love, and giving it.
I remember memories, and losing them.
I remember dream times.
Yes! I remember is 'forever now' packaged,
To be unwrapped in future times, by other minds.
Others plant future seeds - new generations grow,
They too will investigate their past.
So with hands reaching out, I welcome the millennium,
Let's give them positive memories to look back to.
Let hope overcome fear.
Let love conquer hate.
Let joy rule over sadness.
