BOLTON'S farms are disappearing, one by one, to make room for new houses and playing fields. Over 40 farms within the Borough of Bolton have disappeared or been considerably reduced in size to make way for schools, houses, and golf courses. Since 1930, about 860 acres of agricultural land has been acquired.
