AFTER too much turkey and Christmas pudding, Bury's newly transformed Castle Leisure Centre is offering folk the chance to lose inches the easy way. Toning tables have been installed in the under utilised lounge and bar area, to create a brand new £35,000 fitness facility under the Images banner. The tables are all the craze for those who not only want to tone up but also lose inches without much effort.

They work continuously moving isolated muscle groups without any effort from the user.

Bury's competitive services committee chairman, Cllr Tony Isherwood said: "In recent years, as people have become even more health orientated, and at the same time with the increasing social conscience about drink driving, we have seen a decline in the use of the bar. More recently there has been a lot of interest expressed in toning tables, so it seemed an ideal opportunity to offer our regulars yet another new fitness facility on their doorstep."

Toning tables are useful to individuals who suffer with conditions such as arthritis as they allow people to exercise without unnecessary strain on joints.
