BOLTON taxi firm Bolton boss Adrian Jenkins certainly enjoyed a white Christmas.

That's because he has just introduced the first white Hackney cab to Bolton.

Adrian, who rents out Hackney cabs to drivers, said: "Up until this year we were not allowed to put a white Hackney cab out in Bolton.

Clean

"The licensing officer, who has now retired, would never allow white or silver cabs in the town.

"But the new licensing officer said as long as it was a manufacturer's colour it could be used.

"I spotted the cab at a main dealership in Manchester and the price was right so I decided I would like to buy it. As far as I am aware, it is the first white Hackney cab in Bolton.

"White is harder to keep clean, so maybe that has put others off in the past, and it is usually associated with weddings. But one thing is certain, it will definitely stand out in a crowd.

"The cab went on the roads last week and it has already started turning heads, especially with the other drivers."
