CARLISLE remain hopeful of success in their bid to tempt Peter Beardsley to Brunton Park.
The Cumbrian club's chairman Michael Knighton says he is in talks with the Wanderers' transfer-listed former England star, who still has a year left on the contract he signed when he signed from Newcastle last August.
