NORWEB gas bosses were today investigating more complaints from householders who claim they fell victim to a rogue salesman.

As reported in last night's BEN, Norweb Gas Ltd have sacked the conman who forged signatures on contracts as he touted for trade door-to-door.

Following the revelation yesterday of how the man forged Mary Pennington's signature, more angry customers have contacted the BEN.

Today Susan Gallagher of Twist Drive, Breightmet, demanded a full apology from Norweb Gas Ltd.

She said: "The man came to the door but I said I was too busy giving the kids their tea.

"He said he had to check my name to prove on his records that he'd called. Then he obviously had my name to be able to do a signature."

Mrs Gallagher was shocked when she received her documents a few days later showing her gas contract had switched.

She said: "I've phoned them and they've said they'll sort it out, but I've had no word of an apology yet."

Norweb Gas have promised to carefully check all supposed contracts gained by the rogue salesman to determine if they are genuine or faked.

Mrs Pennington is planning to sue the company, claiming the fake contract constituted fraud.
