SIR: I have been informed that a new road is being built near to my house.

On May 19 you put an article in the BEN about a car running into my house. Well, if this road does get built, it is going to make it worse.

I can't sleep as it is thinking about the car, and this road is going to change the way I live to suit the council.

There is enough traffic noise and pollution as it is and at the rear of my home it is called Park View. That means fields and plants (a place were the kids play), but all I will see is cars, vans etc and a load of noise. There is nothing wrong with using the old railway track instead and there are pit shafts at the back near George Tomlinsons.

This is utter madness. The council will spend money on anything except existing problems.

Bolton Road,
