SIR: Although I sympathise with the people with families complaining of the price rises at the Reebok Stadium, I hope all true Wanderers' fans will stump up for their season tickets next season.

First, let's think of the people we will be losing - Glory hunters, Premier League latch-ons, and "I was there" types.

Also, the Bolton-based Manchester United fans, who can't get a ticket for Old Trafford, but got a season ticket at the Reebok last season, so they wouldn't feel left out when their mates were talking about it at work!

Are we really going to miss these people? Weren't they the same ones who would boo the Whites if they failed to beat quality sides? I think next season will be a case of quality rather than quantity - i.e. better to have 14,000 giving full support, rather than an extra 10,000 too quick to criticise. OK, these types made good padding for the TV games, but they were never going to stick around if the worst happened (which it has!).

I think a lot of people will stay away from games, blaming the rise in prices, but in reality I think they would have cleared off even if there was a price freeze.

I wonder if there is a football club in the world which has not put their prices up within two years of moving to a spanking new stadium - whatever the division.
