YOUNGSTERS at Brandwood Primary School have been sampling a little garden culture. As part of a link between the 3D's Partnership, Bolton Bury TEC and the business world, teachers from Brandwood School spent a couple of days work experience at Barton Grange Garden Centre. The aim was to get a taste of the day to day running of the garden centre, under the guidance of Katherine Martin, and then bring it back to school with them.

As a result, youngsters have been given the chance to create an indoor garden, complete with exotic plants and a fountain.

Sally Birkin, marketing co-ordinator, explained: "It allows the children to learn about plants and how to care for them. Some may not have gardens at home and this gives them experience they wouldn't otherwise have."
