COLIN Todd is using revenge as the spur to get his beleaguered Bolton players in a winning frame of mind for tomorrow's do or die survival test at the Reebok.

The Wanderers boss, rarely one to dwell on past horrors, has reminded his relegation-haunted team of the 5-0 hammering they suffered at Hillsborough in November.

Confirming Mark Fish's return to the defence for the first time since mid-January before he took off on international duty with South Africa, Todd said: "Mark has been buoyant this week but I've reminded him and everyone else who played in that game that they have a chance to redress the balance.

"No professional likes to be turned over like that and I'm sure that will be in everyone's minds. We were boosted by the performances of certain players at Liverpool last week - Alan Thompson and John Sheridan for instance. And we'll be looking for them, Mark Fish, Per Frandsen, Dean Holdsworth and others to give influential performances again."

Wanderers are aiming to follow the lead of fellow strugglers Barnsley by throwing a spanner into the Premiership's relegation works.

Victory tomorrow would not only rekindle the survival flame but could also put pressure on clubs who were beginning to take safety for granted.

That was the case when battling Barnsley grabbed three precious points with a 1-0 win at Aston Villa on Wednesday and Todd, for one, sees no shame in suggesting his players follow the Tykes lead with the season having reached crisis point. "We've seen how Barnsley have put pressure on the others and that's what we'll be trying to do tomorrow," the Reebok boss said.

"It's the first of three home games but I'm not even thinking about Leicester and Arsenal. Winning tomorrow is all that's in my mind and in the players' minds.

"Victory is the biggest tonic any team can get."

Todd, who will again be without the midfield talents of Scott Sellars whose injury has been diagnosed as sciatica, but Arnar Gunnlaugsson, who started only his third Premiership game at Liverpool, has recovered from a thigh knock and is in the squad.

Wednesday manager Ron Atkinson is expected to name an unchanged line-up although Norwegian Petter Rudi is available again and new signing, Macedonian international Goce Sedloski is added to the squad after gaining his work permit.
