West Brom Res 2, Bolton Wanderers Res 3 PORTUGUESE winger Jose Moreira grabbed the winner for Wanderers, who fielded four trialists and were down to 10 men for the last half hour at Halesowen last night.

Moreira, who also laid on a goal for Lee Potter, had the pace and finishing power to leave the Albion defence in his wake when he struck impressively 13 minutes from time.

Wanderers produced a good display of attacking football but had to battle against the odds, going behind to a hotly-disputed seventh minute penalty from Marvin Blake.

It was an astonishing decision by the referee, who awarded the foul against Greg Strong when the Wanderers man clearly made no contact with Blake.

Worse was to come with Strong sent off in the 59th minute for a second booking.

Potter's 31st minute equaliser, a header courtesy of Moreira's right wing cross, was nothing more than Wanderers deserved having created five chances and with Michael Johansen also being denied by the woodwork.

Johansen, who looked lively in a central midfield role, set up Scott Taylor for Wanderers' second on 47 minutes.

Michael Garrity levelled for Albion three minutes later but Wanderers held the upper hand and Moreira's winner was well deserved.

Team: Jaaskelainen, Lane, Aljofree, Camadini, Whitehead, Strong, Moreira, Johansen, Potter, Taylor, De Moura (sub Holden).
