LAMENT FOR THE WRENS And so a noble band has gone,

The darlings of the fleet,

Of all the women's services,

Considered the elite.

The priceless duties Wrens performed,

Through many years of war,

Provided sailors out at sea,

With back-up on the shore.

The very thought of Wrens at sea,

To take part in the action,

Was thought quite mad and merely cause,

A chivalrous distraction.

But now the Wrens are history;

The Navy's changed its rules,

Brain-washed by girls who think they're men,

And feministic fools. By B.W.Tyas
