SIR: I am writing to say a big thank you, for acknowledging all fasting Boltonian Muslims during Ramadan and printing the fasting times. Well done.
Ramadan is a very special month to us. It's a time of total devotion to prayer and family, and there's no TV. "No TV!", I hear you scream. But it brings an enormous amount of family unity. Families talk more. Children have excessive amounts of attention given to them and so they should. It's a month of extreme togetherness and harmony in one's household and the BEN is probably the only bit of the outside world that Muslims get to see in Ramadan for local affairs and world news.
So again, well done!
However, unfortunately, on January 31, a brief entitled 'Fastover', was slightly late, ie two days late. As our Eid. the day we stop fasting and celebrate. was on Thursday/Friday. Oh well!
