WE think the time is right for Bolton Council to lift the ban on outdoor bars and pavement cafes.
Such bars are popular not only on the continent but in cities like Manchester where they have added to the city's attractions not detracted from them.
We want the town to be a more friendly place in the evenings. Outdoor bars and continental-style cafes could help to create the cosmopolitan ambience that everyone would find welcoming.
