SIR: I refer to the article about St Gregory's RC Church from Mr McFarlane recently and
agree with everything he said about preserving this beautiful church.
I, as an old parishioner of St Gregory's, residing in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish which is a beautiful modern church, would not like to see St Gregory's destroyed. It is heartbreaking to think of it.
We regard it as the Mother Church of the Catholic community in Farnworth. All our roots are there.
I am sure there is someone out there who can prevent the demolition of such a beautiful church. I am sure it is a worthy cause for a grant from the Lottery. The deadline is in a fortnight, so please listen to our plea. Please, please, help us to save a beautiful church.
