IS this exclusive houses development at Westhoughton set to be the luxury love nest for Manchester United superstar David Beckham and Posh Spice Victoria Adams? Rumours are rife in the town after reported sightings of the United and England midfielder that Beckham and the pop singer are ready to set up home in the area.

Partners at an exclusive new housing development in Dobb Brow have confirmed that a home in Westhoughton is what leading Premier League footballers really, really want. Joint partner of Fountain Park Developments Bob Jackson said: "It is true to say that there have been genuine inquiries about our houses from Premier League footballers."

Mr Jackson, who runs the Westhoughton-based property firm with partner Ian Holden, would not reveal the identities of the players or whether they had actually signed a deal to move in.

But he added: "We are talking about well known Premier League players. "Prospective buyers have been looking at the houses and asking us about the footballers, but obviously there is very little we are allowed to say."

The detached homes, which start from £195,000, are all being built to individual luxury specifications.

Rumours that another "Red" - Manchester United fanatic and Simply Red pop superstar Mick Hucknall - could also be eyeing a move to Westhoughton have been quashed. Mr Jackson said: "That's the first I have heard about that one."

Fountain Park Developments have also developed an 18 home estate off Wearish Lane, Westhoughton and are planning to build some smaller properties near the junction of Cricketers' Way and Mill Street.

The Bolton area is becoming a popular place to set up home for United stars. Ryan Giggs has bought a large property off the A6 between Blackrod and Adlington and Gary Neville is converting a building at Bradshaw into his new luxury home.
