A PUBLIC information campaign to help people understand the European Union is leaving millions of people in the dark, claims Euro MP Gary Titley.
Mr Titley is unhappy because leaflets produced as part of the Citizens First campaign are not available in widely-used minority languages such as Urdu, Punjabi and Cantonese.
Mr Titley has told Commission President Jaques Santer that the leaflets explaining key European issues are sending out the wrong message to millions of EU citizens and has appealed for translations.
"Coming at the end of the European year against racism, it would send out a clear message that Europe really is for all its many peoples,' he said.
The information leaflets are available in all EU official languages including Gaelic, Catalan, and Welsh.
