BOLTON town centre restaurants are cooking up a scheme to tempt people to dine out in the evenings. For starters they are producing a leaflet to show the town centre is tops for its variety of eating places. The campaign is part of a drive to boost Bolton's economy.

The leaflet will highlight the fact that the town's restaurants offer fine food lovingly prepared by talented chefs.

The restaurateurs are also joining forces with Club Mondo to produce a night of culinary delight where various menus can be sampled all under one roof.

Bolton's reputation for Italian restaurants such as Tiggis, Toscana and Pizzeria Roma are complemented by the Noble House, famous for its Chinese cuisine, as well as new restaurants such as Michael's American cuisine, Pierre Victoire's French bistro, as well as La Tasca Spanish tapas bar and Giulios Italian cuisine.

Maria Appleton, Bolton's Town centre manager, said: "This is the first time restaurants have joined forces in this way and I'm pleased to be involved with such a dynamic team. We want to encourage more people to come back into town at night-time. We have got a terrific range of restaurants and we should be telling more people about them."

Paul Wood, who runs the Pierre Victoire at the corner of Bradshawgate and Deansgate, added: "I am happy to be involved in this scheme to help promote Bolton's restaurants. There is so much to offer in the town centre to tempt everyone's tastebuds."?
