What does he know?
In praising the Reebok Stadium, Brian Edwards from the University of Huddersfield, slams not only the rest of Bolton but Wanderers' football team.
The learned professor has got it back to front. Reebok Stadium was not built to regenerate Bolton. It is there because the town is a thriving forward-thinking place which can readily accommodate a stadium of the future.
Let's face it, nobody builds what Professor Edwards describes as "revolutionary" in a lifeless town.
We can't believe the professor has visited Bolton's award-winning Market Place or seen the timeless elegance of Le Mans Crescent and we invite him to do so.
Perhaps he should take in a few Wanderers' matches as well before he condemns the team as having no style.
Life in academia may blunt the edges of what it is like in the real world. We in Bolton think, that despite some problems, the future's looking good, not only for Reebok but the rest of the town.
