WE'RE proud that the name of Bolton is being used for the British military operation in the Gulf.
We suggest that MPs Brian Iddon and David Crausby should back off trying to get the name changed.
Operation Bolton is co-ordinating a 2,300 military deployment as the gauntlet is thrown down to Saddam Hussein.
If, as we hope, the initiative results in a final peace we shall be prouder still of the town's name being at the forefront of events. The Ministry of Defence has vowed the name of this operation will not change. Good.
