SIR: G Raffe, (Your views, January 17), seems to have taken my letter about 'sitting in my corner licking my wounds', literally, when in fact, as I imagine, most people would realise, it was meant as a 'bit of fun'. Does G Raffe really think I sit trembling, for fear of reading another letter by Lee Gregson? On the contrary, when I can't stand the heat I'll get out of the kitchen.

As for being 'a legend in my own mind', I'm sorry you feel this way. My letters are simply an exchange of views, not intended to upset or insult anyone, nor are they meant to be taken too seriously. They are meant as good natured banter - admittedly a little heated at times - between people who care enough to put their feelings into words.

I have nothing but admiration for people such as George K Brown, whose views I criticise often. George is obviously a very caring person. We are both kicking into the same net, but our ways of getting to goal differ - hence the criticism.

Isn't that what 'Your Views' is all about?
