THE splendid buildings and sights of Venice are being recreated - in Deane!
The architects are the stage crew of New Rosemere AOS who are busy working on Venetian scenes for the society's next production, The Gondoliers, which will be staged at the Albert Halls from March 10 to 14.
Most Saturdays, Deane Church Hall stage is filled with the materials necessary for the major constructions.
Jack Lowe and Eric Dawson are in charge of the building work with help from Dave Butcher, Eric Cheetham and Richard Smith. Les Owens leads the painting team.
This year New Rosemere have boosted their principal line-up by the recruitment of local singer Tim Henshaw and Jim Lancaster from Blackburn.
