BOLTON'S Nick Boyd made a winning return to the ring at Old Trafford last night.
Out of action for 18 months with a back injury, the light-welterweight quickly shook off any ring rustiness to return a points win over Lincoln's Trevor Tacy.
Boyd began the six two minute rounds using his jab to keep the much shorter but aggressive Tacy at bay.
He was staggered by swinging hooks in the third and fourth before regaining his rhythm to outbox his opponent in the last two rounds.
